Summary

This position is responsible for managing and directing the activities of asphalt plant operations including but are not limited to production, maintenance, quality control, service and repair equipment at various plant sites. Individual will implement the production strategy for facilities to meet or exceed operation, production, capital and cost reduction goals and objectives. Promote all safety, Health and Environmental policies, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs required by management, local state and federal laws. Individual will assure that assigned facilities are in compliance with OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies. This position will also supervise the facility’s salaried and hourly union workforce. SOUTHWEST US LOCATION. Responsibilities

  • Management responsibilities for 6 asphalt plant operations in relative close proximity.
  • Safety responsibility for an experienced crew of approximately 15 direct, union reports.
  • Oversight of CAPEX projects at all locations.
  • Oversight of all production, maintenance, quality control, safety and environmental initiatives

Requirements

  • BS / BA degree, Associates degree, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior work experience in an asphalt plant and a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the management of union employees is a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern principles and practices of supervising production employees.
  • Thorough working knowledge of asphalt plant operation and its associated products, processes and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations (OSHA).
  • Knowledge and understanding of business planning and financial forecasting requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, conflict and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Oracle Business Environment and other software packages relevant to the position.
  • Ability to plan and manage effectively using motivation and team building skills.
  • Good organization skills; excellent problem solving skills and practices.
  • Flexible to work long hours and travel when needed.
