Summary

The position is accountable for the development of and approval of Capital Projects. This would include but not be limited to the scrutiny of the early stages of the project development, challenging the technical aspects, determining the commercial aspects and development of the construction plan. This position participates in the approval process for certain large capital projects to make sure all appropriate preparation was done by the project manager prior to AFE approval to ensure a very high likelihood of the project being done on-time, on-budget and functioning as expected. This position will function within a culture of continuous improvement in a safety-focused environment. MID-ATLANTIC US LOCATION. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and execution of the company’s annual capital budget.
  • Develop and annually update the company’s 5-year capital plan in support of the business strategic plan.
  • Provide economic and business justification to support capital investments for profit bearing AFEs.
  • Review capital authorization requests for adherence to corporate investment requirements, accuracy and completeness.
  • Direct project management responsibility for all capital investments in excess of $750k including but not limited to Project schedule, budget, engineering management, contractor management and coordination with all internal stakeholders.
  • Performance measured based on on time completion, within budget, meeting investment objective after startup and debugging.
  • Effective hand off to operations and coordination with maintenance reliability group to ensure adequate preventive and predictive maintenance procedures in place at start up.
  • Coordination with the EH&S department to meet all federal, state, local and corporate standards for project safety and industrial hygiene.
  • Seek out and drive incremental investment opportunities for all replacement type AFE's to improve operations including maintainability, production capacity, increased OEE.
  • Overall responsibility for launching new aggregate co-products including product development in conjunction with sales and marketing, PED, operations, and finance with focus on undersize material markets, caprock and oversize material.
  • Oversee project management teams and team workload to assure that assigned projects and miscellaneous work conform with coeporate standards, objectives, good practice procedures, and project goals, including scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Assure the orderly development of projects through programming, design, construction and occupancy phases.
  • Collaborate with company component leadership, other departments, and administration, to establish overall project goals, objectives, and priorities to ensure that both individual component and overall company goals are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline / MSPM preferred.
  • 10+ years of successful project management experience including projects of $50 million and greater, Manager of an engineering group/dept for 5+ years, mining experience preferred
  • MSHA, CAD, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, current techniques and equipment; demonstrated ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and strategically integrate multiple developmental, enhancement and/or modification projects and project teams on-time and within budget.
